Our Philosophy
अन्नं ब्रह्म
Food is more
than nourishment.
Where ancient wisdom meets refined hospitality.

At Rasikam, we believe that food is not merely meant to satisfy hunger — it is meant to nourish the body, calm the mind, and uplift the soul. Rooted in the timeless wisdom of the Vedic tradition, every meal we serve is first lovingly offered to Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa before it reaches your table.
This sacred offering transforms ordinary food into prasādam, meaning “the mercy of the Lord.”
“We are not interested in simply giving people vegetarian food; we are interested in giving them Kṛṣṇa-prasādam.”
— Śrīla Prabhupāda · Letter to Bali-mardana, 9 November 1975This principle forms the very heart of Rasikam. Our purpose is not simply to serve wholesome vegetarian cuisine, but to share sanctified food prepared with devotion, purity and gratitude.
The Wisdom of Bhagavad Gītā
Bhagavad-gītā 17.8
āyuḥ-sattva-balārogya- sukha-prīti-vivardhanāḥ rasyāḥ snigdhāḥ sthirā hṛdyā āhārāḥ sāttvika-priyāḥ
“Foods that increase life, purity, strength, health, happiness and satisfaction, whichb are juicy, wholesome, nourishing and pleasing to the heart, are dear to those in the mode of goodness.”
Inspired by this teaching, every meal at Rasikam is prepared using fresh, natural and completely sāttvic ingredients — without meat, fish, eggs, onion, or garlic — following authentic Vedic principles.
Inspired by Śrīla Prabhupāda
Śrīla Prabhupāda envisioned prasādam as one of the most powerful ways to introduce people to Kṛṣṇa consciousness. He encouraged the establishment of Hare Kṛṣṇa restaurants where people could experience devotion through delicious sanctified food.
"A Hare Krishna restaurant where we serve delicious prasādam will be appreciated."
— Śrīla Prabhupāda · Letter from Māyāpur, 14 March 1976.”These teachings continue to inspire Rasikam — not merely as a restaurant, but as a humble offering dedicated to sharing Kṛṣṇa’s mercy through every meal.
The Power of Prasādam
Bhagavad-gītā 3.13
yajña-śiṣṭāśinaḥ santo mucyante sarva-kilbiṣaiḥ bhuñjate te tv aghaṁ pāpā ye pacanty ātma-kāraṇāt
“The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food that has first been offered in sacrifice. Others, who prepare food only for their own enjoyment, eat only sin.”
This timeless teaching reminds us that food offered with devotion becomes spiritually purifying. Before every meal reaches our guests, it is lovingly offered to Lord Kṛṣṇa, transforming it into prasādam — the Lord’s mercy.
